Who we are
The Italian manufacturer of bespoke lighting for contract
Twenty years of FF&E specifications across hotels, restaurants, retail and residences in Europe and the Middle East. We do not come from a catalogue: we come from the specification — which is why our answer to a project is not a product code but a dimensioned drawing.
The two halves that innovative-enterprise status holds together
Industrial engineering and traditional Made in Italy manufacture, in the same place and in the service of new methods for luxury design.

Twenty years of specifications, and innovative-enterprise status
Lightinup comes out of twenty years of lighting design on FF&E projects: hotels, restaurants, retail and residences across Europe, the Middle East and beyond. On that basis the company is recognised as an innovative start-up.
It is the status that holds together the two halves of what we do — industrial engineering and traditional Made in Italy manufacture — and puts them at the service of new methods for luxury design. It is not a label: it is the reason a specification goes into a factory instead of passing through a distributor.
We do not come from a catalogue, we come from the specification
Shape, material, finish, light source and certification are decided in production, not chosen from a menu. A project comes in as a specification or a sketch, and leaves with shop drawings, a bill of materials, a mock-up room and a declaration of conformity.
We manufacture our own brands and collections, we are certified manufacturers and distributors at once. The skills are all in house: industrial design, supply chain, ERP, logistics, customs and certification.

Lightinup Srl covers Italy and continental Europe. Lightinup International Limited covers the United Kingdom and English-speaking markets. The factory is the same: what changes is the currency, the tax regime and the compliance rules of the destination market.
Alongside the two professional channels there is Bulby, the brand through which we bring the same production to private customers.
The projects deliveredWhat it takes for a piece made in Padua to be installed in London
Not a sales promise: codes and declarations, and either they exist or they do not.
The customs codes
We hold EORI, REX and LUCID. In practice: goods cross the border without the client having to deal with anything.
See the referencesThe declarations of conformity
We declare CE, UKCA, GS and ETL/UL. A piece made in Padua is installed in Germany, the UK or North America with its paperwork.
How we make it«Cover» solutions
On contract projects we also work in substitution: an improved alternative to products already specified in a tender, at equal lighting performance.
The FF&E serviceWhere we have been
InterCity Hotel in thirteen cities across Germany, Austria and Hungary. Vapiano in Ulm, Vienna, Berlin and Brisbane. Mövenpick in Basel and Stuttgart. UNA Hotels in five Italian cities. Waldhotel in Lucerne and Bürgenstock, Switzerland. Alrayyan Curio Collection by Hilton and Al Najada by Tivoli in Doha.
The references, not the number: a claim without its list is just a sentence. These are hotel chains and restaurant groups, where we worked as a supplier against specification and not as a catalogue consulted.
Every name on this list is a project delivered, not a reference collected.
How a bespoke piece is born
A project arrives as a specification, as a sketch, or as a photograph of something that resembles what the client has in mind. The first thing we do is not a quote: it is working out whether it can be made, and at what cost. From there come the lighting calculation on the real floor plans and the dimensioned shop drawing, which is the document the architect and the buyer actually decide on.
Then it gets built. Sheets are laser-cut, profiles are bent, uprights are welded, every part is numbered, lacquered and dry-assembled in the workshop to answer one question: does it close? Only then is it taken apart, packed in a crate built around the pieces, and shipped. It is the journey we tell in full, photograph by photograph, in immersive manufacture.
On tenders we also work when the bid is already written around other products. In that case we propose an improved alternative at equal lighting performance: it costs less, or performs better, or ships sooner — and the client keeps their specification intact.

A contract project, from specification to installed piece. Every line is a document we deliver, not a promise.
- The lighting calculation on the project's own floor plans
- The dimensioned shop drawings, with the bill of materials
- The mock-up room, to see the piece before the run
- The declarations of conformity of the destination market
- The bespoke crating, built around the pieces
- The installation manual, with every part numbered

How it worksDo you have an open specification?
Send it as it is — a PDF, a sketch, a floor plan. It comes back with the calculation, dimensioned shop drawings and compliance. The specification goes into the factory; it does not pass through a distributor.
