The lighting calculation is on us
Send us the drawings and the brief, and the lighting design comes back to you. If you then buy the fittings from us, that calculation costs you nothing: it is already inside the price. If you decide not to go ahead, you keep it anyway.
Three answers drive everything else
The form below is long because a real lighting calculation cannot be done by eye. But only three answers truly drive it, and if you have those the rest follows.
Without these it is a guess, with these it is a design
What the space is for
A meeting room, a hotel lobby and a warehouse need different levels and different colour rendering. This one answer drives all the others.
The heights
Ceiling height changes how many fittings are needed and with which optic. For pitched or vaulted ceilings we also need the spring height.
The surface finishes
A dark ceiling and a light one do not return the same light: the same fitting, in the same room, gives two different results.
We pay for the calculation, because we manufacture
It is not a quote in disguise: it is the technical document stating how many fittings are needed, where, with which optic and at which colour temperature. If the supply then comes from us, the design is already included in the price.
Why the calculation comes before the quote
A lighting project is not a list of fittings. The calculation says how many are needed, where, with which optics and at which colour temperature: it is the step that turns a floor plan into a supply. We do it at our own expense because we manufacture: there is nobody between you and the factory, so the calculation is part of the offer and not consultancy to be invoiced separately. The method behind it is set out on the lighting design page.
What you need to have to hand
The questionnaire is short, but three things separate an estimate from a calculation: the intended use of each room, the ceiling heights and the surface finishes — a dark ceiling and a light one do not give back the same light. If you already have a floor plan, attach it. The fields marked with a double asterisk are the ones without which the calculation cannot start: there are few of them, and they are there so you are not left waiting for a request for clarification.
From calculation to supply
Once the numbers hold, it is the fittings' turn, and these are the lead times: 24-48 hours to look for alternatives within the range, within one week for drawings and models on request, 7-15 days for handmade catalogue products, up to 15 working days for craft pieces made to order, up to 60 working days for fully bespoke ones built from scratch. CE, UKCA, GS and UL/ETL certification is included: it is the same paperwork you will be asked for at handover. If the project is a contract job with a specification, the full route is the FF&E service.
Where to go from here
If the piece you need does not exist yet, Lumina Forge, our generative design engine, draws it. If it is an LED track composition, you build it in the 3D configurator. And if you work with us as a studio, an agency or a reseller, the two partner programmes are set out on the B2B page.
