Referral Programme Terms · Lightinup International Limited
1. About us. The Referral Programme is run by Lightinup International Limited, a company registered in England and Wales with company number 14947318, registered office at 71-75 Shelton Street, London WC2H 9JQ, VAT number GB455122023 («we», «us»). The programme covers orders placed with us on lightinup.co.uk and through our UK sales team.
2. Who can join.
- You can join if you are 18 or over and you introduce clients to us without designing their lighting: for example an estate agent, contractor or builder, property or facility manager, or hospitality consultant.
- You cannot join:
- for a client for whom you hold a design appointment;
- if you are an architect registered with the Architects Registration Board, or a designer who is a member of RIBA, BIID or a similar professional body: our Resident Professional programme is the right one for you;
- if you are one of our Resident Professional or Resident Manager partners;
- if you are one of our employees.
- You apply through the form on our website. Your membership starts when we confirm it by email.
3. Making a referral.
- Before you refer anyone, you must tell them that you are passing their details to us and obtain their agreement to be contacted by us. You confirm this each time you make a referral.
- We will contact the client once to ask them to confirm. If they do not confirm, we will not contact them again and the referral will not count.
- A referral is valid for 12 months from the client's confirmation.
- If two members refer the same client, the first referral we record counts.
- A client who has ordered from us in the previous 24 months does not count as a new referral.
4. Rewards. For every referred client who confirms, you earn:
- 5% of the value, excluding VAT, of every completed order the client places with us within 12 months of the referral;
- a one-off reward of £85 when the client's first completed order reaches £430 excluding VAT.
An order is completed once it has been paid in full and delivered. Returns, refunds and credit notes are deducted from its value.
5. How rewards are credited.
- Rewards are added as credit, in pounds sterling, to your account on lightinup.co.uk within 30 days of the order being completed. You can see your balance in your account area.
- Credit can only be spent on lightinup.co.uk. It has no cash value, cannot be exchanged for cash and cannot be transferred.
- Credit expires 24 months after it is added to your account.
- It cannot be used on the same order as partner trade pricing.
- If an order that earned a reward is later refunded or cancelled, we will remove the matching credit.
6. Your role.
- You introduce clients only. You have no authority to negotiate or conclude sales on our behalf, and nothing in these terms makes you our agent, employee or partner.
- You are free to refer clients to other businesses. We do not give you any exclusivity.
7. Tax. You are responsible for any tax that may be due on the rewards you receive.
8. Fair use. We may suspend or end your membership, and cancel credit you have not yet spent, if you:
- refer yourself;
- make referrals that are not genuine;
- refer someone without their agreement;
- present yourself as acting for us.
9. Your data and your clients' data.
- We handle personal data under the UK GDPR and the Data Protection Act 2018, as described in our privacy notice.
- We use the client details you give us only to ask the client to confirm the referral and, if they agree, to respond to their project.
10. Ending your membership and changes to these terms.
- You can leave the programme at any time by emailing hello@lightinup.co.uk. Credit you have already earned remains available until it expires.
- We may end the programme or change these terms by giving you 30 days' notice by email. Changes will not affect credit you have already earned.
11. Law.
- These terms are governed by the law of England and Wales, and the courts of England and Wales have jurisdiction.
- Nothing in these terms affects your statutory rights.
